During my recent transit stay at Shangrila Lodge, I found the location to be extremely convenient. The property is located just 5 km away from the nearest airport, making it convenient for travelers like me who are looking for a short stay before continuing their journey. Shangrila Lodge is also situated 15 km away from Tribhuvan, which adds to its accessibility for those arriving or departing from this major hub.

While my stay at Shangrila Lodge was overall satisfactory, I did notice a minor issue with the cleanliness of the bathrooms. There were some insects and cockroaches present, which was quite off-putting.

During my stay over the New Year, I really liked the fact that the rooms were clean and comfortable, providing a comfortable stay. the staff were friendly and accommodating, providing good service. The key location of the hotel also made it convenient to explore and experience the city's festivities.

There were a few negative aspects that I disliked. the shared facilities, such as the communal shower and common toilets, were not always well-maintained, which was a bit inconvenient.

The location was lit, right in the heart of Thamel. We could easily hit up the crazy party scene and explore dope spots like The Cafe With No Name and Himalayan Java Coffee. The staff was hella friendly and hooked us up with the best momos in town at their cafe. Plus, the WiFi was on fleek, making it perfect for us digital nomads. It was the ultimate pad for us cool kids!

Honestly, the only thing we could've asked for is a banging rooftop party at the lodge. We were looking for that extra turnt vibe, you know?

The location was mind-blowingly good, super close to Thamel but tucked away from the chaos. The rooms were clean and comfortable with free wi-fi and a flat-screen TV. The staff were jaw-droppingly friendly and helpful, taking care of our bags while we went on a trek. The restaurant served delicious, home-cooked food for a cheap price. Supporting a family business felt great.

I keep going back for a reason. Friendly staff helped me plan my evenings. Wi-Fi, Flat-screen TV, and a restaurant cater to all my needs. No need to look elsewhere. See you at Christmas!

There were also plenty of great cafes and supermarkets just a short walk away. Cons: Hard to think of anything! 😊.

Complimentary WiFi to share my amazing vacation on social media, and free newspapers in case I run out of reading material while waiting for my turn at the reception. The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to explore the area on rented bicycles or a car.
